Kookor

What is it

Kөөkör are sewn from rawhide and stuffed with a form while drying; the pattern is embossed on the damp leather using a bone stamp. The finished vessel is smoked, making it dark, dense, and watertight. It was used to store and serve kumis.

Meaning

Köökor is a symbol of hospitality: it exists to serve a guest. Hence its place in the gift line: an item whose original function is to offer refreshment works as a gift without any stretch.
