Meaning of geometry

Five forms

Triangles and rhombuses — protection, stability, order. Spirals and curls — movement of life, continuity, renewal. Circle and rings inside it — infinity and cycle. Cross inside the circle — unity of opposites: day and night, sun and moon. Sharp spikes — energy, power, militancy.

Why is this separate from the motifs

The meaning of the form works even where the motif is not recognized. A person who sees a shyrdak for the first time will not name 'kochkor muyuz', but will read the spiral as movement — and will read it correctly. This is the level at which the ornament is understood without a dictionary, and it makes sense to start explaining it to the client from there.
